Devachan Ascension (39m)
Fulfilling missed opportunities in the space between incarnations. An extra chance to build life-experience and moral fibre.
The roots of this extended composition by Renadi date back to 1981. A trilogy was intended, of which
this would have been part two.
Now, in this finalized version, parts of the composition aWás! are integrated,
which was performed live and recorded by aWás! prog gamelan band in 1996. Also a theme from Acidic Oceans by Aorta, the all-out impro duo with Mark van Kempen, has resurrected in the second halve of this piece. Curious? Just browse to
jamendo.com/album/140833/chromatic-dreams. Highly recommended if you're in for even more extreme improvisatory pyrotechnics.
The piece features
extensively gamelan instruments from Bali (gangsa) and in a certain way is inspired by Javanese Wayang Kulit
(shadow puppet play). It is probably best labelled as 'Gamelan Prog Rock'.
