about

Trance Morphations (25m13s)

An extended set of songs about lockdown in Corona times. Physically, we are seriously inhibited, but mentally we can soar and dive deep. Or we can easily come crashing down, on each other. Which is what the majority of us simply keep doing, even after a year into lockdown/not so lockdown and in the middle of a third wave of mass infections, and vaccination programs going by half measures.

But there also seems to be some light in the distance, although still tiny. During Corona, and the ensuing lockdown we are thrown back to our bare soul. We are our own saviours, we alone can help ourselves in these times of great uncertainty and deep frustration, which may change the game and the rules of global interaction when and if we see the end of the pandemic. After all, we are our own future.

And only if we help ourselves, we can help others. We depend on each other and there's no escaping the responsibility to our fellow global citizens. We might not be truly 'connected' but we surely are chained to each other.

lyrics

The complete lyrics for this track are included as bonus, together with songs info, general info and sleeve front and back PDF's, when purchasing the entire album.

Original lyrics by TakRok (Pages of Ages/Holy Writ) written between 2017 - 2020.

Lyric adaptations and editing for this track by Gundharman and Renadi (June-August 2020).

The basic track on the Virus B (arpeggiator/kickdrum part) and M3 (synthesizer part)
was improvised in one integral take by Bung, immediately followed by an
improvisational jam on top of that by Renadi on the Alesis (piano), in the night of March 25th
2020, well into Corona lockdown in the Netherlands.
All other parts were composed on top of these tracks by Renadi and recorded one by one
from April to August 2020 by the other members of Bangkirai X. Substantial contributions to the final
arrangements were made by all.

An early instrumental version of this piece made
a cameo appearance May 13th 2020 as background for the YouTube Corona Lyrics Creations Open Project. Watch:
